Conditional Creation of Certificates

Smart Certificates allows you to conditionally generate certificates based on the form respondent’s performance or answers. This is particularly useful for quizzes, assessments, and gated achievements.

When to Use Conditional Generation

  • Quiz-based certificates: Only generate certificates for users who pass (e.g., 60% or higher).
  • Advanced branching logic: Assign different certificates based on score ranges or specific responses.

How to Enable Conditional Logic

• Open your Google Form and enable “Make this a quiz”.

Quiz

• Set the answer key and point values for each question.

• In the Smart Certificates add-on, under Certificate Settings, choose:

  • All Responses: Certificate will be generated for every submission.
  • Passed Only: Certificate will be generated only if the form response meets the passing criteria.

Certificate Generation Criteria

Customize Emails Based on Results

You can configure different email subject lines and body content depending on whether a user passes or fails:

Mail Subject — if Passed

Mail Content — if Passed

Mail Subject — if Failed

Mail Content — if Failed

This helps personalize communication for different outcomes.

Example Use Case

A quiz form has a passing score of 60%. If a user scores:

80% → A certificate is generated and sent with a “Congratulations” email.

50% → No certificate is generated, and a “Keep trying” message is sent.
